Library

My name is Mina Johnson and I would like to introduce myself to you as the new Librarian here at WESA.

I am originally from the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California, and had the pleasure of moving to Colorado Springs in 2008. It has been so fun to fall in love with Colorado and all the wonderful opportunities in this beautiful state.

I am an avid bookworm and I am absolutely delighted to share my love of books with your children.

Thank you for sharing your children with me! It has been such a pleasure to get to know them, and I look forward to a wonderful year.

What is a makerspace?

A Makerspace is a place where students can work together on creating DIY projects, inventing new ones and sharing ideas. Our goal is to have students work together to learn, explore, improve and create new things.

When students develop a maker mindset, they learn to think and solve problems by connecting, engaging and interacting as they move through the creative process of makerspace. They learn how to work through the process, ask questions, develop hands on research and generate ideas.

Book Fair Information

WESA hosts three book fairs each school year.

  • October - During Parent teacher conferences
  • March    - Students are able to browse and purchase books during their library lesson.
  • May       - Is normally the BOGO fair

Keep an eye out for more information in our Bulldog News, Facebook and Website page.

Profit from the book fair is reinvested back in the school library.
