My name is Natasha Gallagher I would like to introduce myself as your students Librarian.
A bit about myself:- I lived in a small Roman city called Chester in England. Which is a few miles away from Liverpool. Fun fact, this is where the Beatles are from. We were very fortunate to have the amazing opportunity to move to the United States in 2015. I started working for the district in 2018, working as an Educational Assistant helping at various schools within district 3. I absolutely loved meeting students from preschool to 5th grade. I started working specifically at WESA in 2019 and after a few months I had the opportunity to become the librarian.
During Library rotations I look forward to helping students check out books, reading stories with them and also having Makerspace activities.
What is a makerspace?
A Makerspace is a place where students can work together on creating DIY projects, inventing new ones and sharing ideas. Our goal is to have students work together to learn, explore, improve and create new things.
When students develop a maker mindset, they learn to think and solve problems by connecting, engaging and interacting as they move through the creative process of makerspace. They learn how to work through the process, ask questions, develop hands on research and generate ideas.
WESA hosts three book fairs each school year.
- October - During Parent teacher conferences
- March - Students are able to browse and purchase books during their library lesson.
- May - Is normally the BOGO fair
Keep an eye out for more information in our Bulldog News, Facebook and Website page.
Profit from the book fair is reinvested back in the school library.
